  1. Just a question from a new ( and grateful) reader of this blog. After reading the poems about Austen, I stumbled upon a wonderful bibliography of books and essays in criticism by Austen scholars. But I lost it by accident. Can you direct me to this large and impressive scholarly bibliography? Is it part of the blog of Jane Austen Society of NA? Help!

    • Hello Melanie – my apologies for a very delayed delay [such is my Life! – goodness this is from back in April!] – the bibliography you are referring to is called A Bibliography of Jane Austen, by David Gilson. St Paul’s Bibliographies / Oak Knoll Press, 1997 – updated from the original 1982 edition. It is an essential tool in studying Austen! Not inexpensive but there are copies out there… Barry Roth did 3 bibliographies as well, but there is nothing current now except the JA Bibliography in JASNA Persuasions-OnLine from 1999 – 2012 (the 2013 will be published online in December) – hope this helps!
